CSE’s Guidance manual- The (ITGSE) International Technical Guidance on sexuality education is a technical tool that presents the evidence base and rationale for delivering Comprehensive Sexuality Education to young people in order to achieve global Sustainable Development Goals.

Content of CSE’s guidelines-

  1. "…that abstinence means choosing not to have sex, or deciding when to start having sex and with whom,"

  2. "…recognize that each person’s (children) decision to be sexually active is personal, which can change over time and should be respected at all times"; [respect means parents must accept the choices children make about having sex on every occasion. Neither can children decide when to be sexually active].

  3. … adolescent girls are also more likely than older women to self-induce an abortion or seek abortion services from untrained providers and are generally less knowledgeable about their rights concerning abortion and post-abortion care. (This means if a parent says you can’t have an abortion, they are violating your right.

  4. "… summarize key elements of sexual pleasure and responsibility". We don't want teachers teaching our children about how to achieve sexual pleasure.

  5. "… define gender and biological sex and describe how they are different…"

  6. "… differentiate between values that they hold, and that their parents/guardians hold about sexuality"

  7. … …

To summarize, It teaches children about sexual pleasure, that they can decide to have sex, they need not tell their parents, that they have the right to an abortion, gender & sex are different and identify the differences in values they and their parents have about sex.
